FOUR YEARS OF BEARNIGHT, THIS SATURDAY, WITH GOODIES

FOUR YEARS OF BEARNIGHT, THIS SATURDAY, WITH GOODIES
I'm going to take a moment to editorialize about BearNight, the dance-party on the first Saturday of every month at Numbers…

Some of you are too young to remember the Good Olde Days before the Internet, when men HAD to assemble in huge crowds in leather bars in order to cruise, socialize and feel connected to a larger community. It was extremely Tribal, and for those of us who were attracted to masculine men, it could get pretty damned exciting.

Nowadays (I'm very glad to say), this Saturday's fourth-anniversary special BearNight will be a near-perfect example of what I remember from BULC, RAMPART, or any of San Diego's previous high-point leathermen's dance-parties of the 70's, 80's and 90's. It's a time-slice of how things used to be, and I'm astonished that such a thing is still possible. I'm guessing that the Internet can provide a lot of activities, but you just can't dance well in front of a webcam with earphones on. Men still need to get out from their homes for the primal pleasures.

As I have said before, I assign the credit for this to Chris Vance. He's a champion by nature, who works every BearDance like a man-machine. He makes sure that every man there has a safe, welcoming and effective environment to go play in.  I am a dancing FetishMan - I dance wildly, with no inhibitions, and if I'm there, I always get the party started. I have the comfort-zone to do this because Chris is there to handle everything else. We can all depend on him, 100% of the time. Now that BearNight is celebrating a full four years of success, he deserves all credit for building and maintaining the team that keeps the adrenalin, sweat and testosterone pumping. We don't have to wish we could re-live the Good Old Days, because they are happening RIGHT NOW.

I'll see you all on Saturday - I'll be there early, getting the dance-floor warmed up for the rest of you!

From: Chris Vance:

BearNight is celebrating its 4 year anniversary this saturday, so it should be a great night. Free gift to the first 300 people, 100 of them are custom BearNight t shirts I designed and then 200 BearNight Mix CDs.

Free Svedka hosted bar from 9-10pm with Celebrity photographer Mike Ruiz as seen on A-List New York, RuPauls drag race and Kathy Griffin's My life on the D List. He will be promoting his new photo book 'Pretty Masculine" with proceeds going to GMHC.

See you there.
Chris

Upcoming Events

I'll be playing Naughty Santa on Sunday the 4th at the Special Delivery Holiday Social in Mission Hills to benefit Special Delivery - The holidays are particularly hard for service-oriented charities, and they need an extra "push" to get them over the line. This is a very worthy charity, and I don't mind that this event will prevent me from attending Cigars & Boots at the Redwing, just this once. They're incredibly good people - saints among us.

Check out these pictures, showing good-hearted volunteers making life easier for people who have a life-threatening illness and/or needing emergency nutrition  We are living in cynical, harsh times, and these people are pushing hard in the other direction, being kind and good because it is the right thing to do.

One hopes that Special Delivery can set the tone for the NEXT phase in our society's history.

BELT Party, December 8th

From: Dangilo Bonilla, Cub Club:

CubClub isn't about the type, it's about the culture. This time we are introducing you to a little bit of the FETISH culture with our latest event, BELT! Some of our crew went to Folsom this past September, learned a few new things, and they brought back a hunger for a local party with the same flavor. We wanted to go beyond creating another leather bar night, and BELT was born. We are taking things a step forward and out of everyone's natural comfort zone, with an EVERY FETISH party at Hillcrest's Premier nightlife and dining destination: EDEN. We want you to COME and make the place, "SMELL LIKE FOLSOM."

To set the proper mood for the event, Ned & Dangilo have brought in SAN DIEGO power couple: GLITZ GLAMOUR (2011 Nicky Award Winner) & ANTHONY ROLLAR (MR SAN DIEGO LEATHER 2010 & 2011 Nicky Award winner) to take you through the evening's journey.

The night will be full of FETISH, and not just LEATHER. We will be introducing you to other indulgences including but not limited to BONDAGE, Flogging, FOOD, DOM/SUB relationships, BLINDFOLDS, PUPPY PLAY and-lets not forget FEET.

DOMINATING (or maybe tied to) the boxes you will find local artists ART TORRES & DERROL MURPHY, along with CUBCLUB's regular gogo's; MAX, DAVID, and ANTHONY. Rounding out your entertainment the GENDERFUCK DIVAs; GRACE TOWERS (cubclub's resident Diva of the Den), & DISCO DOLLIE! (they aren't JUST dancing folks)
******************************************************

We needed to compliment all this action with something that would please your aural senses, which is why we have BEARHAUS DJs & LOCAL superstar DJ SHANE STIEL! Fresh off his last San Diego showing at LLBEAR (where he ripped Rich's roof off), Shane is ready to spin you into a frenzy. From 10pm-2am, you better be in the vicinity of his sound, because he's going to be spinning the perfect mix of nasty and sexy. (Sorry, but Britney Spears & the like, will be left at home)
