Review of Club X Black & White Party, April 19, 2014

First of all, I haven't got a single bad thing to say.  This is a rave review. I left deeply satisfied on many levels.

A few of the brothers from FetishMenSanDiego came to check out the action at the recent Club X play party:

- The party was perfectly produced, laid-out, furnished, and staffed. This is a Class Act: the team clearly cares about the result.  I've seen bigger events, and flashier events, but this one was just right.  Any bigger and it would have been too much. It sold-out early, with 125 attendees.

- I honestly suspect that the folks there were turning themselves inside out to convince us gay guys that they were just as sweet, just as intimate and just as available for friendship as their brothers in FMSD have shown ourselves to be.  I totally get that, and I believe it. This new generation of folks are damn nice. The previous team did a great job of teaching them, but I also see a whole new energy that is delightful to see. At all times, I felt like red carpets were being rolled out in front of me, with rose-petals raining down in my path. It was all heartfelt and authentic.

- On that same topic, I kept hearing the same thing all night (and I'm paraphrasing): "Club X was started by gay leathermen, and we really want our brothers back in the mix."  I think I heard a variation of this from at least ten folks, and each time, it was said with great passion.  We are missed, guys.  Our sisters and brothers want the Family Reunions to include the entire family.  I'm doing a lot of pondering on this topic.

- The folks who staffed this event worked as though their lives depended on it.  I'd be able to distract them for a few seconds, but each time, I'd be asked to come back at the end of their shift, because they had a job to do.  I'm deeply impressed by that.  That level of dedication has to be cultural, and baked right in.  It doesn't show up any other way.

- I play with gay males all of the time.  I recommend it to everybody... AND, I had a blast playing with folks of every type at this party.  There's a different dynamic, with each different person, but it's never anything less than wonderful.  I got to connect on a really good level with everybody who crossed my path.  If you're looking to learn, this is a GREAT way to learn new styles, new techniques and new ways to interact.  Superb role-modeling and social-interaction opportunities everywhere.

- It was visually SPLENDID.  My lord - what a show!  These folks know how to kick out the JAMS!

I wish that I could take my visual memories and place them here for everybody to share.  Since I can't, I urge my gay-male brothers to come to the NEXT Club X Play Party with me - I don't want to miss a single one!

From Frank, to the Club X team:

Chuck and I wanted to let you know the club threw a terrific party last night.

I’m new to the scene and Chuck is a football field behind me trying to decide if it’s for him. In November 2013 I attended a Body Electric: Power, Surrender, Intimacy workshop and that was what turned me on to BDSM.

This was our first play party and your DMs made us feel very comfortable. We appreciated that not only as a gay couple but as first timers.

The space was laid out well and the variety of scenes that were going on was incredible. I particularly appreciated the women that were expressive submissives and just beautiful to watch. I am a painter by hobby and have trained painting nudes, there were times I wished I had a canvas with me.

I also work in healthcare and appreciated the time taken to orient us to safe, healthy practices while playing; particularly the hygiene of the equipment and Muffin’s needlework was exceptional.
I hope we will be seeing more of each other.

As with Papa Tony I think the work that you guys do is valued and necessary.

I do have questions about pan-sexual gatherings and relationships that perhaps one day we could discuss.

But for now Thank You for a GREAT first time experience, Frank and Chuck

Audio, Pictures & Review of Kilts & Karaoke & Relationships Night

Photos are by the always-superb Scott Smith, who is currently training our brother Mike to be the new, up-and-coming documentarian star of our group's Tribal History.  What our Tribe has needed for decades is a core group of essential elders/mentors who stick around and help the next generation along.  I couldn't be more proud of Scott for taking his craft to the next level, and SHARING it. This behavior speaks really well for his character.

On Wednesday, April 16, 2014, the men of FMSD enjoyed one of the most interesting, vivid evenings we've ever had.  At the end of the evening, I went around and asked each man "At which point during the evening were you bored out of your skull?"  In every case, I got the amused response that I was looking for:

"NEVER!"

KILTS

The evening started out with everybody swarming around, exchanging hugs and love, and catching up with each other.

Once everybody calmed down enough to have a seat, we started out with announcements, and then I introduced our special guest Rob Scott, who I had met at the Hole a few days earlier. Rob makes his own kilts, and as a surprise, some of the men in FMSD wore OUR kilts to welcome him.

Rob fascinated us with his stories and craftsmanship, and his warmth.

He's a charmer!

He even modified a pair of shoes to be more Scottish-Traditional in style.  He sews leather, if it's thin!

Rob and I started throwing kilt-themed jokes back and forth, but I got booed off of the stage when I pulled out the old, old stinkeroo:

"What's the difference between a gay man in a kilt, and a washing-machine?"

Hands on hips, swishing the kilt from side to side, and using a very effeminate voice: "Well, I'm SURE that I DON'T KNOW!"

Some our men tried on Rob's kilts, and did the Runway Walk, with the Turn, the Significant Pause and the Head Toss, while the rest of us cheered and encouraged them to "work that kilt, baby!"

We gathered on stage to get a Kilted Men Group Photo, and then somebody (I suspect Jon) yelled out "Do the Braveheart Photo!"

So, we did.

Our photographer Scott deserves to be documented in a kilt as well!

At the end of the meeting, Rob was eager to become our newest member, and will be attending events going forward.  With THAT kind of affectionate welcome, can you blame him?

Rob also sold a kilt (the blue denim one), to his very first customer Ron, who proudly wore it the rest of the evening. I think we can all agree that it looks like it was custom-made, just for him, to show off his manly attributes.

If YOU are interested in purchasing a custom-made kilt, please contact Rob the Kiltmaker at Rgscott41 @gmail.com

WHIP PRESENTATION

Then, I asked the men with the most experience in the group to come stand shoulder-to-shoulder with me on stage. They were there to act as witnesses as I presented Frank, our newest Whipmaster, with a whip that he had earned. I was acting in my capacity as Tribal Elder.

I'm drawing the curtain of discretion over the topic of HOW he had earned it, though I told him privately, afterward - I keep my criteria pretty secret. Why?  Because I want to study each trainee with careful, considered observation, and to reward him when he has reached a level of excellence that tells me that he is ready to own a certain level of Mastery.  If I just hand away the criteria publicly, then folks will feel like they will only have to check items off of a list, and get an automatic treat in return.

I never, ever try to CHANGE anybody - Instead, I hold a metaphorical mirror up to his gaze, to show him how wonderful he has always been. My goal is to have him OWN who he is, flaws and all, and to love the man that he has become. If he has earned some signifier of personal growth and upward transformation, then he will treasure his passage more if he knows that he has thoroughly earned it.

DISCUSSION

Then, it was my turn to lead a discussion on "NAVIGATING THE CHALLENGES IN POLY/OPEN RELATIONSHIPS" Including Jealousy, Conflict And Agreements. The link for the audio of this discussion is that the top of this page.

Given that it was one of the largest turnouts we've ever had for a Men's Discussion, the topic was one that attracted a lot of men to show up.  Clearly, even eighteen hours of discussion wouldn't have been enough, so a team of men will be hosting more of these sessions on the topic of Relationships as time goes by.

Here are the books that were referenced in the discussion.

From Donnie: It was a Wonderful discussion night and one we should continue, I think many of us still wanted to get a word in but we ran out of time. Maybe our first week in May we can continue...

KAROKE NIGHT!

Then, we walked three blocks over to Redwing bar, for camaraderie, chicken wings, beer and applauding each other as we belted out tunes. This is an intensely FUN time, and this was the biggest turnout we've ever had for Karaoke Night.

We used to do this regularly, months ago, thanks to our dear brother Ian, whose sweet nature, vocal range (tenor to baritone) and perfect pitch have always kept the rest of us on-key by way of example.

Then, life got in the way. Things shifted around, and we all got distracted.  Thanks to our brother Brett, we once again have something wonderful to look forward to, on the third Wednesday of each month.

Ian joined us this time around, and it was like the very best times have never left us at all. I kept looking around at the large number of happy, close and satisfied FetishMen (several in kilts) and felt as close to them as I ever have.

Many things have changed in our group since the last time we were all singing lustily on Karaoke Night, but this shows that they have all been changes for the better..

Review of Fisting 101 "Hands-In" Demo Night

From Papa Tony:

On Wednesday, April 23, 2014, FetishMenSanDiego hosted our biggest Hands-On Demo Night.

Luckily, we planned for it.

This is just 27 of the 52 men who showed up!

The RSVP's kept rolling in, and rolling in, up until well past the start of the event.  It was clear that this was going to be a breakthrough event.  So, we made a preliminary announcement about a new brother club forming, which is now complete:

Fisting Brotherhood San Diego!

Ever since 2007, when Red Hankies San Diego died, it has been difficult for many folks to find a local Tribe of fistfuckers. Yes, you can join up and advertise your desires on any number of online cruising resources, but they are not going to help you feel like you're part of something bigger. Some men like to be a "lone wolf", and that's fine, but there is also a hunger in many men to feel trust and affection as part of a larger brotherhood.

So, the new group was formed, with:

- 54 members right off the bat (and many more have joined since)
- A Web site (http://fistingbrotherhoodsd.blogspot.com)
- An email address (FistingBrotherhoodSD @gmail.com)
- A logo
- An email subscription system at the top of every web-page, so that folks can stay abreast of news about upcoming events, and
- A kickoff event coming up, as the first part of creating regularly-scheduled social and play events.

Since FBSD is based upon the same structure and philosophy as FetishMenSanDiego, it has a MUCH better chance of sticking around for years to come.

Slutbottom Chris Knows His Stuff!

Slutbottom Chris on the left, with the evening's host, Magnum

The evening started out jammed, (we prefer to call it "intimate), and honestly, it worked fine.  Chris started out the topic of Fisting 101, and the conversation got lively and interactive in the best possible way.

We were honored with the presence of some deeply experienced, wise and glorious men who were eager to share their hard-earned knowledge, so as soon as Chris would make an important point, the Tribal Elders would make their points and counterpoints, and the newer faces among us got to see something deeply rare:

Respectable, wise and courteous brothers sharing passionately, and all wanting the same thing - To pass along their wisdom. This has been needed badly for too long a time. Many thanks to the entire team that came together to make this magical event happen. It never happens randomly - the space has to be created where folks feel safe enough to step up.

Chris pulled Chef Lee out of the crowd to draw diagrams on his front and back, indicating anatomical details that explained his points.  Much instructional material was brought forth, with plenty of props to show products that Chris recommended, and tools that he finds essential.

Then, it was time for demonstrations.  After Chris got the ball rolling from the BOTTOM'S viewpoint, he got topped for the first time that evening, by his long-term play-partner Roger.  Cobi and I moved to the two slings with Pigboy Richard and Chef Lee, and demonstrated the finer points of fisting from the TOP'S perspective.  I'm proud to say that I was able to get my ginormous paw comfortably inside of Lee with zero pain, and only pleasure.  He said later that I was the biggest fist he has ever taken.

In Conclusion:

The evening ended far too soon, unfortunately. There simply wasn't enough time, space or equipment to send everybody home, smiling at both ends.  However, it's an EXCELLENT beginning.  This evening's symposium proved that there is a widespread hunger for more information, connectedness, diversity and sheer good will.

All adult age-groups were present, involved and friendly.  In 2014, that's what we need.

Feedback

From Slutbottom Chris:

Wow, I'm blown away by how much fun tonight was! Fetish Men San Diego has yummy and diverse members & this was the most fun I've had presenting a fisting workshop.
Oh and 9 men put their hand in my butt.

Jorge Lieras Lucky bitch!

SB Chris:

Lucky to be enjoyed by some great men.

Mangum:

Chris, you were amazing! You & Roger touched, moved & inspired us with your knowledge, expertise & wit. On behalf of Fetish Men SD. Thanks for your service.

Ron Brundige LeatherAlpha Chris, thanks so very much for sharing your knowledge. I learned so much from you. All the "little" questions are answered. Hugs my friend

From David:

I just wanted to say THANK YOU!! I had the Most Amazing time last night.. and I also want to Thank Slut-boy Bottom Chris!! I don't think I have ever felt a bond between so many men as I did last night.. You hear the term "Brotherhood" and until you actually FEEL it you don't quite Comprehend what it really means. Last night it was OBVIOUS that I have found a Genuine down to earth group of loving and non-judgmental men where I can truly be myself and feel SAFE about doing so.. This is Truly the beginning of something wonderful in My life.. and I hope and pray that I will be a blessing to others as well. You forever have my Love, Respect, and Loyalty for what you do! Again Thank You!

From pig boy richard

This boy was thrilled to have the opportunity to be participating in the Demo nite event. While having a past history with and some knowledge of Fisting , it had been many years ago and the presentation made by S B Chris allowed for a somewhat "public" experience of what had previously been a very private one to become much less intimidating. S B Chris' Demo allowed the "playfulness" of playing within asses become what it is supposed to be ...FUN ! His talk was not only informative but done in such a way that I believe allowed all of those observing to feel very relaxed and excited in a highly charged and crowded room.

When my own time to be placed in the sling arrived I felt comfortable and relaxed (BTW, loved having it be You, Sir, who picked me up and put this boy into the sling!) Despite the noise/many observers, etc., having listened to the presentation and following what had been said, the room very quickly disappeared and all there was in the world was Cobi's sweet and gentle presence with me floating beneath him and his hand slowly entering me. I was able to enter a subspace within my head that I had not known for 15+ years and it was so wonderful to know it and be in it once more. Even tho' this boy bled like the "born-again virgin" I was, LOL, the experience held no negative trauma for me. I felt "safe" in the energy of the space that had been created by the event.

In retrospect, it may have been a few more men attending the event than was prudent. I was fortunate to have been very close to the presenter and felt included by being able to interact with him/them. I don't think those in the far end of the room were able to experience that  as much, even when the "one on one part" up on the table began. An event as big as that one might be more effective in a larger space if that many men are expected to attend, Sir. I've gotten that point of feedback from several others since the event. Also, considering that the event is in someone's apt., I think the limitations of the space's square-footage and personal items are a challenge when setting up the space for the events. I have some ideas for how some of the current "placements" (refreshment table area/furniture/etc.) might be more efficient for future events if were possible to present those ideas to you, Sir.

I remain most humbly grateful that You would ask this boy's opinion/responses,  Sir - pig boy richard

From Brett:

The fisting demo was a great event! Prior to the demo, my knowledge and experience with fisting on a scale of 1-10 was probably a 2 at best, but after the event I felt very educated about the preparation, safety, and technique. The room was packed but it felt cozy like a get-together with friends and family.

Slut Bottom Chris was an amazing teacher and role model. He was fun and approachable. Another big take away for me was learning more tips for training a bottom for fucking, as the concepts applied to both. Really glad I attended!

From Michael:

I’ll cut to the chase: I liked the workshop a lot -- it was helpful, practical and friendly.  I also have a couple of suggestions if you do it again.

What I liked was that it didn’t talk down to anybody: if you didn’t have fisting experience, you weren’t made to feel like an idiot.  Chris was personable (well, let’s be honest here: he’s adorable…) and he did a great job of explaining what the top can expect.  I especially liked that he brought up the yuck factor (“What if there’s shit?”) – everyone thinks about it, but we’re all afraid to say something.  Chris was down to earth and just brought it up.

What I was also hoping to learn was how the bottom takes a fist.  (I’ve fisted a few guys already, so I’m interested in learning how to take one.)  Maybe it was too much to cover both sides in one workshop and you’ll do another one from the bottom’s pov.  If so, you might want to mention the emotional component: how it’s important to caress the bottom and keep asking if he’s doing okay.  I saw a lot of guys stick their hand up Chris’s butt (which is admittedly a big step), but I didn’t see many of them caress him or be concerned about how he was doing.  I did so when it was my turn, and it made the whole experience more meaningful to me to know that he was enjoying it also.

(In the other room in the far sling, there was a top who was going about in a very thoughtful and concerned way.  I spoke to him afterwards – sweet guy (tattoo of a pen and inkwell on his shoulder), but I didn't catch his name.  Just watching him be so concerned about the bottom was very moving).

So: great workshop – helpful, sensitive and caring.  And maybe there’s room for a second workshop from the bottom’s perspective.

Updates for FISTING 101 Workshop: New Fisting Group Forming

This is going to be a breakthrough event.  We have NEVER had so much interest in one of FMSD's workshops.  Expect crowding.  We will make it work, no matter what.

As of right now, we are creating a new FISTING BROTHERHOOD SAN DIEGO (FBSD) special interest group email list.

If you WANT to be added to the list, send an email to fistingbrotherhoodsd @gmail.com.

We WILL be doing a Group Photo, and if you don’t want to be in it, that’s fine.  No pressure.  Here’s why we are doing a Group Photo:  We want to have a BIG group of happy, handsome faces in the publicity, to entice even MORE men to attend the first big FBSD social event:

RED HANKIES NIGHT AT THE EAGLE, THURSDAY, MAY 8, 9PM ONWARD.

The Eagle has been hosting Red Hankies nights for years, and the only thing lacking has been momentum.  Well, we’ve got PLENTY of momentum now, and then some:

There’s currently around a Nine-Tops-to-Every Bottom ratio in the eager RSVP’s that we’ve been receiving. FMSD has been pushing hard on flogging, and whipping, and sometimes bondage, but the turnout for the fisting event is staggeringly impressive. So, we’re going to push HARD in this direction.  There has clearly been a need, ever since Red Hankies San Diego went out of business.

PREPARATION TIPS FOR TOPS:

Clip your nails, and then file them down smooth.  REALLY SMOOTH.  Use your tongue to thoroughly test whether there are any sharp edges. Tops with sharp nails will never be popular, and we WANT you to be popular!

Chris will be teaching Fisting from the Bottom standpoint, and Papa Tony (among others) will be teaching fisting from the Top standpoint.  It's going to be a large-scale sharing of wisdom!

Newest Updates for April 16

This is a new, short way of putting-out the newest information, without overwhelming people.

Going forward, there will be one, LONG listing of upcoming events each month, and weekly, bite-size updates, like this one.

Tonight: Wednesday, Apr 16, 7PM: Men's Discussion at our meeting space. Papa Tony leads discussion on "Navigating Challenges In Poly/Open Relationships" including jealousy, conflict and agreements. Expect large numbers of men in KILTS (you'll see why), and KARAOKE two blocks away, after the meeting!

It's easy to walk from the meeting to the Redwing!

Afterwards, we'll all stroll over for "Karaoke Nights" at the Redwing Bar & Grill, nearby. This event will regularly happen on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, after our Discussion.  If you haven't tried it, give it a chance. It's a jolly gathering of fun brothers!

Saturday, April 19 at 9:30pmLL Bear Dance Party @ Rich's, at 1051 University, featuring SINGLET NIGHT!

Saturday, April 19 at 8:00pmCLUB X BLACK AND WHITE PARTY

Note from Tony: Several of us are planning to attend this event. From what we are finding out, gay male kinksters are REALLY missed at Club X events, and we will be eagerly welcomed as long-lost brothers.  After we've spent so much time developing true trust and intimacy with each other, it's time to show off what we have learned!

Wednesday, Apr 23, 7PM: DEMO/PLAY PARTY "FISTING 101" WITH SLUT BOTTOM BOY CHRIS" from Club X, who is eager and excited to share his knowledge and experience, and strongly encourages audience participation. We want a group of "hungry" bottoms & "eager" tops to assist in this "hands on & in" demo. Our demo/play parties are held at a private residence, and it's encouraged to RSVP due to our large attendance and space limitations. RSVP at signmeupforevent @gmail.com.

Kilts and Karaoke, (and JEALOUSY), Wednesday, April 16

Tomorrow night, FMSD will be hosting multiple entertaining reasons to get out of the house, learn, discuss, and have a bunch of FUN:

6:45PM: Try to find parking near our meeting-space at Mission Gathering. Parking is pretty horrendous around there.

7PM: Men's Discussion: Papa Tony leads a discussion on "NAVIGATING THE CHALLENGES IN POLY/OPEN RELATIONSHIPS" Including Jealousy, Conflict And Agreements.

At some point during the evening's events, we will be introducing Rob Scott, who is hand-crafting kilts here in San Diego.  In a fun gesture of support, a good number of us (who are known kilt-wearers) will be flashing the men across from us in the circle! If you own a kilt, this would be a great time to show off what ya got!

9PM: Afterwards, we all stroll over for "Karaoke Nights" at the Redwing Bar & Grill.

On the 3rd Wednesday of each month, join us at 9PM at Redwing, which is only a short walking distance from our meeting location for great food, drinks and karaoke. Whether or not you want to sing (on or off key) isn't important: what really matters is having a good time and enjoying each other's company & brotherhood!

9PM FMSD Karaoke Night!
