The holidays are just starting up, and plans are already in motion to bring quick relief, AFTER the holidays:

Imagine a nice, big crowd of gay kinky/leather/latex/puppy men in gear (or shirtless), filling an outdoor, fenced-off parking-lot, with food and beverages nearby.  It will be the kickoff to the Spring Social Season for 2016. Exact date and time (it'll be early January) are being nailed down, and will be announced soon. The location is going to be exciting!

This is going to be an EXCELLENT way for kinky gay men to cruise, flirt and socialize, outdoors.

As soon as more details are locked down, you'll be hearing about it, updated at the top of this page.

What It's About:

MANY local leaders are already signed-up to be a part of this, and we are looking for more. We will be applauding those men who have worked hard to create the events that you've been reading about all year. Let's thank them for caring so deeply about bringing us all together.

Like all of the large, fun and inclusive events of the last five years, this will be a LARGE, "Level Three" event, meaning that it is based upon cooperation, sharing of social networks, and brotherly love.

This is not a fundraiser.  It's just a way to bring us all out, close and personal, as a gay-male TRIBE.  We don't do that nearly often enough.  It's overdue.

We will probably turn the TRIBAL EQUINOX: Kinky Gay Male Outdoor Cruising Party into an annual event, to build excitement for the new season.

It was Jan 1970 something when “Saturday night” by the Bay City Rollers was number 1 on the charts, a year where you couldn’t get the theme song from S.W.A.T. out of your head.  Disco was rounding out a century marked in decadence.

The Leather Community in Chicago had a contest held at a local Leather bar, the Gold Coast had seen John Lunning becomes Mr. Gold Coast, the first leather titleholder. Leather Bars popped up places like the Bootcamp in San Francisco, DC Eagle, The Ramrod in Phoenix, the Stockade in NYC and the 247 in Philadelphia.  Also in the 1970’s John Embry, Alternate Publishing, began publication of Drummer magazine. It was an era marked with achievements.

 Now 35 years later Disco is being re-envisioned and has had an epic comeback. Leather Disco Trade will be bringing back this golden area of decadence channeling the feel and look of a Disco Club. For one night only the Sunset Temple will be transformed into the hottest Leather Disco Socal has scene in 35 years!

Featuring Local Disco Divas and DJ’s from within the greater San Diego Fetish Community.  Silent auction items and raffle prizes all night! This is one event that is sure to mark our history.
Within every great event is a great cause. Something that drives the forces that be together this year as Producer of Leather Disco Trade and Mr. San Diego Eagle 2015 Jay Heimbach has dedicated the entire night to raising money for a new Pansexual Scholarship opportunity for San Diego Leather/Fetish/Kink Community.

This Scholarship is aimed at anyone that needs assistance to better his or her life through education. No matter their choice of studies.  The Mr. San Diego Eagle Scholarship or (M.E.S.D.) is awarded during every Mr. San Diego Eagle Contest.

Slowing Down During Holiday Season

Every year at this time, this announcement gets posted - It's very difficult for any affinity-group to maintain a regular schedule during the holiday season…

The calendar fills up with competing, specific holidays, office parties, family visits, distractions, and a zillion competing events, scattering everybody's energy.

So, every year, we choose to take it easy, slow down, and start hatching plans for the new year. There are ideas that are hatching to start off the New Year with a major, exciting BANG, to get everybody's blood boiling after spending too much time with family, and scarfing down food and drink that isn't doing us much good.

FLOGGING, ALL LEVELS: Papa Tony will be guiding eager Flogging Tops with their individual technique (at ANY level of expertise, including 100% newbies), their ability to “read” the bottom, and establish trust with beginners. Flogging bottoms are quite welcome for obvious reasons, and will be encouraged to give clear feedback.  The overall goal is happier, satisfied bottoms, by training Tops to be excellent in all cases.

Watching this one-hour video beforehand (and a flogger, for the Tops!) are PREREQUISITES for the class, so that we can get to the good stuff right away.

Folks who don’t watch the video first, might get left behind, because we have a lot to cover!

About the Master Classes, held on the Second and Fourth Thursdays of each month:

The ongoing “semester” of Master Classes focus primarily upon “soft skills” - Life-wisdom, coping-mechanisms, interpersonal skills and philosophical foundations for becoming the wise, respected and successful Dom that you were always meant to be.  You can find “hard skills” (specific, step-by-step techniques for kink) - anywhere online, and in our beautiful town of San Diego. 

It’s a lot harder to find ways to SUCCEED at using those techniques - that sort of information doesn’t show up on the Internet, and what if you are looking for a SPECIFIC answer to what is not working well in your own case?  There simply aren’t enough patient, caring and accessible mentors around, and having an old-timer who genuinely cares about your success can make all of the difference. Papa Tony created these classes as a way to spread the mentoring around, within a wider audience - Female and male, all kinds. Our diversity is our strength.

As we gay leathermen have been saying for a long, long time, “Even Daddies Need Daddies”.  That goes for Mommies, too. We don’t have this sort of deep knowledge directly-wired into our chromosomes, and we need to watch and learn and TRY things, with affectionate and supportive feedback. We can get really tired of negative feedback from others as a primary way of learning.  Let’s all do the positive-reinforcement thing instead!

Papa Tony has actively been part of the kink/leather/fetish community since 1977, and a community leader since 1981. He has recently retired as an active leader, describes himself as a Tribal Elder, and now concentrates upon mentoring others in their quest to reach their next level, whatever that may be. Papa Tony has been mentoring Tops, Doms and Sirs for a long, long time.

The goal is always to pass on what he learned in the last 38+ years, as a repayment for the superb mentoring that he received, before AIDS swept his mentors away. Examples of his work may be found all over the Internet - All are welcome!
