Negotiation -- defined as "discussion aimed at reaching an agreement"  (I like to call it the art of asking for what you want) -- and consent -- giving permission to having something done -- are key to BDSM/leather/fetish/kink interactions.

Join us for a lively discussion of negotiation and consent facilitated by FetishMen SanDiego members Jerry and Scott.  We'll talk about communicating clearly and effectively to help successfully connect with your leather brothers.


About our facilitators:

Jerry

Jerry started his involvement in the leather community at the height of the AIDS crisis in the late 80’s by passing out condoms at the Levi/Leather bar Yukon Trading Co. in Rhode Island. In an effort to explore leather and kink Jerry has attended the Butchmanns Experience and the Body Electric School’s Power, Surrender, & Intimacy workshop. Jerry has attended regional and national leather conferences to continue to learn more.  

For the past six years, he has been active in San Diego’s Leather community as well as a participant and leader in FMSD. Jerry has presented and facilitated discussions on such topics as: power exchange, consent, flogging, impact play, rope, and surrender. Service to the leather community is important and Jerry can be found providing flogging at a monthly Flogging Friday event and at San Diego’s Pride Leather Realm as an ambassador/player introducing leather/kink to new folks interested in their first experience of leather.

Scott

Scott started his leather and kink exploration in the mid 1990s through a partner who gently introduced him to the basics of leather attire, restraints, toys, mummification, hot wax, and fisting. After a long pause, and when he moved to America's Finest City in 2011, Scott committed to exploring his kink side. He discovered Fetish Men San Diego (FMSD) and Club X San Diego in short order and continues to participate in both groups.  

Scott has attended many events presented by both FMSD and Club X including discussions, demos, and workshops on topics ranging from spanking, to fire play, sounding, rope bondage, deflatables; as well as supported and participated in play parties. His service to the local leather community includes providing individual, group, and event photography; behind the scenes support for FMSD; providing flogging at a monthly Flogging Friday event; gently giving new folks their first taste of a leather flogging at the San Diego Pride Leather Realm as an ambassador/player; leading the FMSD Planning Meeting; and facilitating discussions and hosting demos.
