NEWS YOU CAN USE

From Mr L.A. Leather 2014, Eric Paul Leue:
This is important.

When I first came around as a gay man, and leatherman, I had difficulties finding my tribe. Later when I was comfortable in my community I was confronted with the T in LGBTQ, and I was challenged to open my mind.

It was hard at first because, how do I ask without offending? How do I learn without being thought to stare? How do I feel about a transgender man being in an all male environment?

I am still not done learning, I don't think I ever will, because everyone is unique. Whether L, G, B, T, Q, or else. What I do know though is that if you identify as male, you are male. Our transgender brothers and sisters should not have to be scrutinized by us, who are just beginning to feel the fruits of our fight for equality and acceptance. It wasn't long ago were the G in LGBTQ was just as disregarded and looked down upon.

We are all one community. So when I hear of clubs refusing my dear friend boy tyler ABW titleholder and club member of 15 & Delta being refused by the Dallas Discipline Corps - I cringe. Yes a club has the authority to choose who can and can not join, but I wish that we open our eyes and learn to understand that what we do when exclude is nothing less than the discrimination we have fought.

I am not talking about giving up our male space and making everything open to all, but I am talking of accepting our sisters into female space, our brothers into male space, and if it is a mixed party - well there 'ya go.

Would we exclude men that aren't goldstar gays and may have slept with women before discovering their gay or bisexuality from a gay male party?? I think not.

Open your mind, open your hearts, open your legs - as ever you please. But do not turn from being the oppressed to being the oppressor.

94th Aero Squadron Restaurant

************************************************
From Donnie: In Lieu of a Discussion on Wednesday Feb. 18 (Third Wednesday of the Month) I am inviting all the FMSD Guys interested to come and join Me at the BDSM Social which is now hosted by Daddy Vinnie and Lolitah Hayes. (If you were present in October for My ageplay discussion, they were two of my guest speakers)

This event is one of San Diego's oldest running "Meet and Greet" Socials.

It started in 1997 and has met every month since. From meager beginnings, the Social grew to become a premiere activity in the area for all types of "BDSM" individuals. It brought together a large pan-sexual group, all yearning to find others in a safe, sane and consensual forum. We found acceptance, friends in numbers and others that shared the same intriguing thoughts and activities.
The Group Meets on the Patio in back of the restaurant through the Bar Area which is Heated and Multi Levels and there is an Area that is good for those that smoke Cigars Etc.

There is a Raffle for Awesome Paddles and Floggers that are 50¢ Each. The Restaurant Offers Happy Hour on several food and drink options.

This is Great Opportunity to meet new friends and show what FMSD is About and Up to in 2015.

Also confirmed to be returning for 2015 are the very popular Southland Honors Awards celebration as well as The Assembly Uniform Reception.

Additional events will be added soon, so you can expect a full week-long celebration of the leather lifestyle.  The 2014 event was a huge success, resulting in significant donations to charity beneficiaries.  The 2015 committee expects to out-do those results, and are pulling out all the stops to create a fantastic event week that everyone will want to be part of.

Shopping Recommendations

From Papa Tony: I've been gathering new gear lately, and I'd love to praise and promote the artisans and artists who support our Tribe directly.

Mister Marcus

My prized new toys...

Mister Marcus is a valued member of Club X San Diego, and I'm glad to get to know him better.  He hand-crafts play-toys that are individual works of art, AND craft.  If you want a unique new toy (or want to give a loved one the very best), he can be reached at Mister.Marcus.sd AT gmail.com, and he has a new Web site. He has no desire to crank out identical items like pasta, so don't expect that!

JimSupport

I'd like to endorse the folks at JimSupport in Palm Springs as an excellent source of kinky hardware, such as slings, fuck-benches and rim seats. Everything is of the highest-possible quality and utility.  I'm delighted with my own extra-tall sling, as shown in this image.  It's GREAT for suspending folks in all sorts of ways, such as by the wrists on all four sides!

Tribal Son

I admit it - as I get older, I LIKE masculine jewelry and accessories.  It's okay for males to be peacocks!

Let's say that you take a trip to the International Mr. Leather contest in Chicago, or Mid-Atlantic Leather, Folsom Street Fair or Dore Alley (among many others).  These events are CROWDED with thousands of the hottest men in the world.  You will see many of the sexiest, most hyper-masculine men setting-off their brawny, wide chests and pumped-up arms with cuffs, pendants, rings, belt buckles and other goodies designed by Brian and Peter at Tribal Son. They always have a booth at the bigger events, and are well-worth finding in person.

Everything is designed to be Tribal and MALE. I think that I have seven of their pieces, and always want more.

Men's Discussions for February 2015

From Mike Brock:

The topics for discussion during the next four weeks are as follows:

2/4/2015- Butchmanns Review. The many men who attended the sold-out weekend Leathermen’s weekend will share some of the breakthroughs that they experienced.

2/11/2015- Making someone new to kink comfortable

2-18-2015- Donald (Donnie) Vella will host.

2/25/2015- Helping Your Submissive Go Beyond His/Her Comfort Zone. This will be held at FMSD's Sacred Male Space.  For location, send your RSVP to SignMeUpForEvent AT gmail.com

The first, second and third Wednesday of the month Men's Discussions are being held from 7-9PM at

Mission Gathering,
3090 Polk Ave
San Diego CA 92104-2633

We are meeting on the ground floor, as far into the courtyard as you can get.
Try to get there by 6:45PM, because the parking situation is awful.

see y'all then!

The Butchmanns Experience Came to San Diego!

Photographs are by our good brother Scott Smith.

UPDATE:  The audio recording of the post-weekend reviews is here (49 minutes)

From Magnum: The Butchmanns Experience started on Thursday with a "kick-off & welcome dinner" for the staff and behind-the-scene supporters. Thanks to Frank Explorer and his hubby Chuck for a fabulous & delicious dinner.

From Papa Tony, Monday, February 2, 2015:
You will notice that I won't be saying anything about what happened during the weekend.  We don't want to spoil the surprises and benefits of the Butchmanns Experience for those who follow after us.
Master Magnum was inspired to light the candle,
which represents our brother David.
He is still lost to us, and could not attend with his brothers.

Those of us who attended the very first San Diego-based Butchmanns Experience this weekend (this one was all-male - the next one won't be) are pretty wiped-out, this Monday morning. After any event, there is something that occurs which is called "Post-Event Drop",  where the organizers collapse, recover and ponder which lessons to learn.

In THIS case, everybody who was there feels the same way, whether they spent the weekend as a volunteer, a participant, a leader, or a producer.  We are all dragging tailfeathers, folks!

Why?  Because this was one of those situations where we captured lightning in a bottle - all of us together.  Every human being who spent time being a part of the weekend had a stake in creating one of the most deeply Tribal events I've ever HEARD of, much less attended.  Nobody held back, everybody got the full, desired result, and nobody was left out.

At the end of the weekend, it was like a Happiness Bomb had gone off in the room - a big one.

Our out-of-town speakers and leaders were thrilled with San Diego's local Tribe.  I warned them at the beginning that this would be unlike any other Butchmanns weekend, because the majority of folks in this crowd already loved each other as a Tribe.  The leaders saw that we arrived READY, and already unified in brotherly love. They got to share their wisdom, moderate the processes and guide the sold-out crowd in breakthroughs, in a gathering of men that already had each others' backs.

The men in attendance took a lot of chances, knowing that they had the support of the brothers around them.  We love these men even more now, having seen each other in new ways.

The volunteers worked as though their lives depended upon it:

- The food was luscious and wholesome, clearly prepared with affection, and served with happy hearts. I DO have an issue with our brother Michael: How on earth am I going to lose twenty pounds by next week, if you keep bringing fresh-baked cookies every day?  :->

- The after-event cleanup went by in a flash, with a big team, working like beavers - Everybody went home early, rather than having a couple of overworked volunteers having to labor on into the dark hours.  It was a happy team effort.

Plans are already being made for the next Butchmanns Experience in San Diego, later this year, by VERY popular demand. Send an email to magnanumos AT icloud.com to get on the alert list!

From Master Magnum:

San Diego's Leather & Kink community is alive & thriving!

I'm still floating around in an altered state of awesomeness & gratitude from a powerful weekend of transformation of the first ever Butchmanns Experience in San Diego!

My desire of wanting to make this happen wasn't of my own efforts it took a cast of volunteers and supporters to set this thang off!

Here's a BIG shoutout to all y'all!
Forgive me if I miss someone...and away we go!

From Ian Morton:

So happy to have been able to assist. You deserve much respect for heading up the team to make this happen. There are some amazing community leaders in the making, and being in the same building while they were experiencing significant growth was an honor!

From Donnie Vella:

It was a Great time Magnum, I thoroughly enjoyed volunteering on Friday. I'm glad I was able to help Frank unload his car and take supplies in, and also checking everyone in was a blast too. It was nice to be able to Greet the participants, most of which were just as happy to see me as I was them. Everyone was so nice. Had it not been such a busy weekend I would have volunteered more or become a participant.

From Jerry Moreau:

For all who attended the weekend and had a change, an experience, and left feeling different. I'm reminded of this poem to not go back to sleep, life is not the same anymore - don't go back to the old ways. We are not the same any more, embrace the change in your life, relish it and keep moving forward with confidence.

Don’t go back to sleep
By Rumi

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don’t go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep.

From Dan Woodward:

Perhaps discard old ways which no longer serve us, but keep ones that still prove functional. I have some more thinking to do before discussing things tomorrow.
