In honor of this next weekend's San Diego Pride festivities (centering around the Leather Realm), some of our older brothers will be telling personal stories about what life was like for gay leathermen, back a few decades ago… Back before Internet dating, cruising apps, or even ancient BBS systems.

Back when the infamous Hanky Code was NEEDED to filter through hundreds of men in the bar every weekend.  Back when what we did was a LOT more illegal.

No, not all of us died.  Some of us made it through, and can now tell our stories to a new generation. There will be a LOT of "History on the Hoof" in the room!

Mark Holmes and Steve Heyl will be our treasured, special guests, and everyone else is very welcome to speak up with your own memories - It will probably run long, because the guys are EAGER to be talking!  I will be keeping the conversation flowing.

Starts: 7PM.  Get there early to socialize.

Things have been different lately, as the brothers on the team decide who has what duties in the running of FetishMenSanDiego.  So, emailed newsletters have been rare.  Unbeknownst to the folks who aren't on Facebook, FMSD has been roaring ahead on full power all along.  There has been one superb event after another, week after week after week.

So, in an effort to reach out in a more effective way, I will send out a SHORT newsletter each week, rather than the labor-intensive, monstro-huge newsletter of days past.  As always, the continually-updated FMSD Calendar will let you know what is coming up, months ahead of time. It contains the details that I don't have the patience to deal with any more, and it would be a REALLY GOOD IDEA for you to bookmark it, or to subscribe to it.

Xplore is a BDSM Play Xploritorium, designed for both sides of the slash (top and bottoms, Dominants and submissives, etc.), and a great way to get a hands on experience/perspective of the various types of play we enjoy.

Whether you are just beginning your BDSM journey or want to know what it is like to feel the kiss of a whip, a rhythmic flogging, the feel of rope against your skin, a spanking/paddling or many of the other forms of play you have heard and read about, this is for you!

Although there are representatives for specific play types, don't be discouraged if you don't see what you're looking for. If there is something you have a question about please let Club X know and we can get your questions answered!

You can feel the impact of, or learn the correct and safe way(s) to use the toys in your bag or the ones you would like to buy. There will be various demonstrators in attendance to show, instruct, assist and help you out with proper techniques.

Xplore is typically held the First (1st) Saturday of the month starting at 7:00 p.m. and continuing until about 9:00 p.m, at the Joyce Beers Community Center.

We do require photo Identification showing you are 18 years old and Release of Liability Forms must be completed before you enter the room. This is not a play party, but an educational event designed to teach the basics of What It Is that We do.

The men of FetishMenSanDiego will not meeting at our usual Wednesday night space.  In honor of five very successful years of operation as a kinky brotherhood, we will be celebrating at Urban Mo's. I will be buying appetizers, and the first round of sodas or other beverages. That is my gift of gratitude for my beloved brothers. You are the heart and soul of FMSD.

The plan is to be open, friendly, sociable and inviting to the men around us, and maybe picking up a few new members as we swap stories about our experiences as brothers.  Every time that we have done this, we have always had a thoroughly satisfying time.

A Bit of History:

FMSD was created to be something NEW and forward-thinking.  No by-laws, elections or membership fees.  The goal was to supply what the Internet can not, and never will, provide… Brotherhood, trust, relaxation and affection.

As you can see from our massive, massive photo-archives, we have continued to succeed despite a few challenges that have arisen at times. They were all just speed-bumps, and we just kept sailing along.  Thanks to the MANY men who have shared their time, wisdom, expertise and dedication, the FMSD phenomenon just keeps getting better and better.

FetishMenSanDiego was designed all along to be a welcoming space for new, innovative ideas.  Our flexibility and diversity have been our biggest strengths.  Every man who wants to be a leader can be, with a large support-system. Volunteers are loved and thanked, and everyone is treated with respect.

As has been said elsewhere, we are not Old Guard, and we are not New Guard:

We are PREHISTORIC GUARD.  We are Tribal.  In a fully-functional Tribe, everybody brings their best efforts and energies in a cooperative way.  Each individual is treasured the way that they are, and growth is encouraged.

That's why nothing ever really goes wrong at any of our hundreds and hundreds of events.  We have attracted the best sort of men, who live by their word, and who provide the best-possible role-models.

FMSD is sailing-along comfortably.  The brotherhood is always present, the cooperation is universal, and our future is assured.  Let's have many more anniversary celebrations!
