Auntie Helen's Has Moved!

Note from Tony: This is one of my favorite charities. If I have clothes, equipment, books, old porn, whatever, I don't hand it away to other folks - I just drop it off at Auntie Helen's!

After 23 years in the same location serving thousands of clients, we are moving two blocks up 30th Street to better serve our community.

Auntie Helen's is THRILLED to open our new Thrift Store and HIV/AIDS Laundry Service at 4127 30th Street (30th & Polk)!

We have a brand new look, a brand new vibe, yet the same dedication and cheerful, smiling service we've provided to thousands of clients for decades!

Join us for the Ribbon Cutting on Saturday, March 30th at 11am. Ribbon Cutting will be conducted by both Michael Dudley, Auntie Helen's Executive Director and Kurt Wendelborg, Mr. San Diego Leather 2011, current VP of the San Diego Chapter of the Gay Rodeo Association and appointed Cabinet Minister for the 41st Reign of the Imperial Court de San Diego for HRH Empress Candi Samples.

We will be joined by State Senator Christine Kehoe and her partner Julie Warren, State Assembly Member Toni Atkins, City Council President Todd Gloria and Bishop Dermot Rodgers.

SO IMPORTANT Thank you to our construction volunteers: Andy, Greg Oliver, Kurt Wendelborg and Jimmy Quigley. Thanks to our current staff for all of their work these past years and this week helping move this monster to our new location: Terry Abrams, Dana Smith, Ken Harrington, Colin Ashman, Miguel Chiton Yi, Brent Smith, Allen, Jack, John David, Les, Omar.

Also thank you to Mom's/Priority Pharmacy and Jimmy Ramsey for hosting coffee and pastries for this ceremony.
